Second Life PBL Experience

The “Piloting Innovative Pedagogy for Medical Education” project was undertaken in the Discipline of Surgery at The University of Sydney, Faculty of Medicine. The purpose was to explore the enhancement of learning and teaching by creating ‘virtual patients’ within the virtual world platform know as Second Life. In short, ‘patients’ based on problem based learning (PBL) scenarios currently being used by the Sydney Medical School were presented as virtual cases to students for evaluation.
